Our most recent graduate designer to exhibit at The Loft was Colin Horgan. A recent graduate of The Limerick School of Art and Design with a BA (First Class Honours) in Womenswear, reconstructing and redefining his aesthetic combined with organic techniques has earned Colin a deserved reputation for attention to detail.
His work has been featured in the Triumph Inspiration Award, Vogue X MUUSE Talent 2013 as well as receiving KFW ‘One to Watch’ Designer 2013. Over the past three years Colin has worked with both emerging and international fashion labels such as Johanna Pihl (Stockholm, Sweden, 2012) , David Andersen (Copenhagen, Denmark, 2013) and Anne Sofie Madsen (Copenhagen, Denmark, 2014).
Colin’s work has been featured in the Independent, Tatler, IMAGE, Sunday Business Post, Marie Claire, Graduate Fashion Week, Chasseur, DISORDER amongst other publications both in print and online magazines.
We had a very exciting graduate showcase in The Loft for August and September 2014, the amazing end of year collection from NCAD graduate Caoimhe MacNeice. Caoimhe is a Dublin based fashion designer who graduated in 2014 receiving a B.Des (Hons) in Fashion Design. The ‘Warp’ collection explores a misleading online persona, a person reduced to pixels on a screen. Garments are reduced to simple geometric shapes reflecting these pixels, which are warped and distorted by the body. Letting construction inform design, as opposed to design informing construction.
